This site collects as little as possible. It has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and it sets no cookies. It runs one small script of its own to check that form submissions come from a person rather than an automated script; that script talks only to this site. No outside service is involved in anything you do here.

If you write via the contact form — your name, email address, message, and the IP address the message was sent from. These are used only to read and reply to you. The IP address is included to help identify spam; separately, a scrambled one-way version of it is kept for up to a day to limit how often one sender can submit the form. The address itself is not stored.
If you sign up for launch news — your email address, and the date and IP address of your confirmation. Used only to tell you when the book is available.
Both are based on your consent, given by submitting the form. The mailing list uses double opt-in: you are added only after clicking the confirmation link in an email we send you.
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing by anyone else.
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
You may ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw your consent, or object to its use. Email info@becoming-vincent-book.com and it will be dealt with promptly and free of charge.
If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, or to your local data protection authority if you are in the UK or the European Union.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Material changes affecting people already on the mailing list will be sent by email.
